Happy weekend! Is your tree up? I thought I'd share a few fun images with you to inspire you over the weekend. During the holidays, I always appreciate some out of the box, push the envelope thinking when it comes to trees and holiday decorating. Why not get out of the red/green rut and do something a little more original?
While I'm not a huge fan of pink, this is gorgeous!
Or you could go the other way and turn Christmas completely on it's head:
Goth Christmas anyone?? A black tree:
I'm always on the lookout for exceptionally unusual public trees.....and I found them:
I saw this one the other evening in Emeryville while out at dinner, it's shopping baskets!
My husband is an old school gamer, so this one's for him....Pacman tree in Madrid:
My favorite, a Murano glass tree in Italy:
.........And then there are trees I love for just beauty or nostalgia:
No holiday is complete for us without a trip to see the giant tree in Neiman Marcus, Union Square.
.....or any tree lit in the snow.........sigh...........
......Or trees in tropical locations,

Oh all very inspiring. Love the murano glass and shopping baskets! so clever!
Fun post Marie. The Goth tree is pretty cool. I must say I've never seen a black tree. I think the only tree that would come close to that is a "Steelers" tree - with gold thrown in as well.
Goth never! But the rest are fun and exciting. Over the years, I've found myself drawn to pink during Christmas, but I'm not sure I'll ever do a pink themed tree.
lovely trees, Marie!
ummm...but are there supposed to be wingdings as your text? Makes a nice artistic statement, but a little hard to read. ;)
btw - check out my most recent post when you get a chance! you just might be in it.
Sorry Kelly, I don't think anyone else is seeing the wingdings, but if anyone else is, let me know!
No more wingdings! That was weird...
Yes! We finally saw what you saw and my IT support, aka hubby, fixed it. Long story and mistake on my part which my husband was very entertained by.
Ooooo....I really like the white tree with colored ornaments. I just stumbled across your blog for the first time and thought I would say hello! I looked through a few of your posts and love your style.
I'm a blogger as well, about the world of art, but my history is in interior design and fashion. I love to hear what people are saying! Hope we get to see more of each other in the future.

Wow, those are some over-the-top ideas and I love them all. But alas, I am a traditionalist when it comes to my Christmas tree with nostalgic memories stored forever in the ornaments passed down from family or collected over the years.
Wishing you a very Merry Christmas!
